Winter offers some Awesome fishing
December 13th, 2009

The temperature may have fallen but the fish are still biting. Winter offers some great fishing opportunities for Trout, Steelhead and Sturgeon fishing.
The Fraser Valley Steelhead offer world class fishing which is no surprise since these challenging fish are renowned fighters. Average weights of 10-12 lb with Steelhead in the 15 to 20 lb range not uncommon. The season starts in mid December and carries through to April. Whether Fly-fishing, bait, drift, float or spin fishing this a great fishing experience that you don't want to miss.
We offer daily walk and wade trips on the Vedder river. If you want to learn how to fly fish for Steelhead or you just want to hone your skills a little, let one of our teaching guides show you some great techniques and fishing locations. We offer both conventional and fly fishing instruction in both single and double handed applications.

Even though the Salmon have finished spawning their carcases provide excellent food for Sturgeon and so the next few months there is still some great sturgeon fishing. As long as the river is flowing and the temperature doesn't get too far below zero the sturgeon will still bite and put up a great fight. (Our boats are heated and covered)

Harrison Eco Tours - Looking to get out and just enjoy the scenery, than January and February are the perfect time for a jet boat ride up the Harrison river. Many of the the Bald Eagles that came for the Salmon in November and December hang around for the winter. The river is serene with only the odd boat and it is a great way to see the quiet beauty of nature up close. Call us about our Eagle watching resort package.
Seasons Greetings
All of us at BC Sportfishing Group would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
