Fraser River Sturgeon Fishing British Columbia

(Dinosaur)
At BC Sportfishing Group, we always do our part for Conservation and work hard to give you a guided Sturgeon adventure of a lifetime. Our team of angling guides takes their job seriously. We are well trained in first aid and all other transport Canada mandated courses. BCSFG fishing guides are really known for their ability to catch fish day after day. That is exactly why we have grown to be the largest Fraser Valley guided fishing company. Repeat clientele and referrals are the best way to build a successful company.
White Sturgeon are powerful fish. Their reel screaming runs and acrobatic leaps make these freshwater giants a force to be reckoned with. Many in the Sportfishing community compare White Sturgeon to the fight of a tarpon’ because of their amazing power. Our world class Sturgeon fishery make us look good day after day. We are grateful to the many guests that return to fish with us year after year.
The Fraser River is also home the prehistoric white sturgeon: the largest freshwater fish in North and South America. Considered one of the most spectacular freshwater sports fish in the world, these monster fish can live for 200 years. Known for their size, strength and impressive jumps they can grow to over 1,000 pounds. The Fraser River provides us with the last healthy wild stocks of this species on the planet
BC Sportfishing Group works closely with the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society (FRSCS). Since 1999 BCSFG has mandated that all White Sturgeon encountered by our guides and guests be tagged and recorded. This is part of the ongoing Lower Fraser River White Sturgeon Mark and Recapture program being conducted on this amazing species. We tag more Sturgeon than any other guiding company in the Fraser Valley. BCSFG works closely with the FRSCS and its Honorary Chairman, Rick Hansen, in this ongoing research into the overall health of stocks, through a variety of initiatives. You can even adopt your fish and over time information on your fish will be sent to you when your fish is recaptured.

BCSFG’s Owner & CEO, Tony Nootebos is a Director of the Fraser Valley Angling Guides Association (FVAGA). Tony also holds a certification as a captain with the International Game Fish Association (IGFA). He is actively involved with environmental sustainability and holds a position on the Board of the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society. Over the years Tony has made it a priority to participate in a number of Government roundtables discussing fish stocks and recreational fishing.
Catch & Release
Fraser River White Sturgeon is a sustainable, catch and release fishery. Our guides ensure our clients employ best practices for handling these incredible animals. The Fraser River White Sturgeon fishery has been in place since 1994. By working together with the FRSCS and its tagging study as well as ongoing consultation with the Provincial Government, we work to keep this fishery strong for all to enjoy into the future.
